This morning’s update includes a video message from Mayor Toby Barker. The details included in the video can be found below.
1. If you haven’t already donated blood and can, please do so today. Merit Health Wesley will host a blood drive at 210 West Hospital Drive from 11:30 a.m. until 4:30 p.m.
2. The City of Hattiesburg is hosting a drive for masks to help fill needs for our health care community, first responders and essential services. The Hattiesburg Mask Drive-Thru & Drop-Off will take place this Thursday, Friday and Saturday from 10 a.m. until 3 p.m. at Jackie Dole Community Center.
Small donations will be unloaded in the front and large donations will be unloaded in the back. Signage will help direct you. As we follow CDC guidelines, do not get out of your vehicle. Staff will unload donations for you.
3. The mayor’s office staff, with input and guidance from our Congressional delegation, are currently pouring over what the CARES Act includes. More importantly, we are working on pulling out what that information means to you – the resident. We’ll push that information out in the coming days.
