Position Title: Crew Worker
Department: Water
Division: Water Customer Accounts
Rate of Pay: $15.00/hr.

Nature of Work:
This is semi-skilled manual labor. Incumbent will install, read and maintain water meters, connect or remove access to water services, locate water meters and service lines, inspect and provide meter information and any related work as required. Work schedules require after hours on call shifts. The physical demands of this position require the ability to walk, stand, lift and reach. Incumbent must also be capable of maintaining courteous and professional working relationships with citizens and co-workers at all times. Work is performed outside in all weather conditions. Assignments frequently include the use of standard or specialized hand tools, power operated equipment or other devices. All work is performed under the direction of a crew supervisor.

Examples of work:
• Locating meters
• Turning off, locking, removing, or plugging meters
• Inspecting and reading meters
• Meeting and speaking with customers about their meter or service
• Completing work orders and accurate documentation

Requirements:
• Good communication skills and proper use of the English language
• Must have and maintain a valid Mississippi Driver’s License
• High school diploma or GED.
