National Night Out (NNO) is an annual community-building campaign that promotes strong relationships between law enforcement and the communities they serve. Held nationwide on the first Tuesday in August—and in some areas in October—this event encourages neighbors to come together for block parties, cookouts, and safety demonstrations, all to foster trust, safety, and unity.
National Night Out is more than just an evening of fun; it’s an opportunity to strengthen community partnerships, raise awareness about crime prevention, and show solidarity against crime. By bringing residents, local organizations, and first responders together, NNO creates safer, more connected neighborhoods.
