City council plans to override mayor’s wastewater veto

Hattiesburg City Council will hold a special-called meeting at 5:45 p.m. today in council chambers to override the mayor’s veto of the council’s decision to implement land application as a solution to its wastewater issues.

During a special-called meeting by City Council on Dec. 18, council members voted 4-1 to adopt a land-based application for the city. Ward 2 Councilwoman Deborah Delgado, who is in favor of a mechanical system, provided the sole vote against the measure.
