Hattiesburg – On Saturday, February 23, the Hattiesburg Caerus Mardi Gras Parade presented by Keith’s Superstore is scheduled to roll at 11 a.m. The route will begin at the corner of the Service Road and W 4^th Street, turn west onto Hardy Street, turn north on 38^th Avenue and end at Morningside Drive. The Hattiesburg Police Department will provide traffic support, with additional help provided from the City’s Public Works and Parks & Recreation departments.

The following streets will close at 10 a.m. to prepare for the 11 a.m. start, and they will be closed for approximately 4-5 hours (streets are listed in order on the parade route):

40^th Avenue will be open to north and southbound traffic to help with detour traffic, and floats will begin staging at the corner of W 7^th Street and the Service Road. A map of closures is attached for reference.

The intention is for the parade to roll rain or shine; however, in the event of a severe weather situation (lightning/flash flooding/tornado activity) – a final call will be made early Saturday morning. Otherwise, everyone is encouraged to attend and be prepared to endure a little rain.
