Make a Difference Day
Make a Difference Day 2025
Saturday, November 8
The City of Hattiesburg’s annual Make a Difference Day is a citywide call to service. Neighborhood associations, civic groups, student organizations, churches, and individuals come together to take on projects that strengthen and beautify our community. From litter pick-up to landscaping and site clean-ups, every effort plays a part in making Hattiesburg a better place to live, work, and play.
Why It Matters
“Hattiesburg’s strength has always come from neighbors serving neighbors,” said Mayor Toby Barker. “Make a Difference Day is a chance to put that value into action across our city. Whether it’s a small group or a large project, every effort adds up to lasting impact.”
Make a Difference Day has grown into a cornerstone of civic engagement in Hattiesburg:
- A full Saturday of service projects across the city
- Expanded opportunities for employers to encourage volunteerism through week-long efforts
