Position: Seasonal/Temporary Youth Intern

Department: Police Department

Rate of Pay: $12.00/Part-Time

Nature of work:
Provides clerical and administrative support to the department while gaining exposure to a law enforcement environment.

Examples of Work:
• Answer phones and route calls
• Process and distribute mail
• File, scan, and organize documents
• Pull and prepare reports
• Perform data entry and maintain records
• Assist other departments as needed
• Provide basic customer service support

Cell Phone Policy:
Cell phones are required for communication purposes; however, phones are not permitted for personal use during work hours. Phones may only be used for emergency or work-related communication.

Qualifications:
• Basic computer and communication skills
• Organized and able to handle confidential information
• Must be sixteen (16) years of age or older
• Reliable transportation
• Must have a cell phone and email address for communication
• Must maintain professionalism consistent with the City of Hattiesburg Employee Handbook
