America 250
In 2026, the United States marks a historic milestone, the 250th anniversary of the signing of the Declaration of Independence. Across the country, communities will reflect on the nation’s founding, celebrate its progress and look ahead to the future.
America 250 Hattiesburg is a year-long initiative highlighting the people, places and stories that have shaped our city and our nation. Through special events, educational programs, community projects and public celebrations, we will explore how the ideals of liberty, opportunity and civic responsibility continue to guide our community.
