Comprehensive Plan
Hattiesburg 150 & Beyond: Shaping the Next Chapter
As Hattiesburg approaches its 150th anniversary, we are building a vision for the future with the city’s new comprehensive plan. This long-term plan will guide how Hattiesburg grows, invests and serves its residents over the next 20 years.
The comprehensive plan will address a range of priorities, including infrastructure, land use, housing, transportation, economic development, parks and more. It will be a clear, coordinated roadmap for how we move forward as a city, focused on progress, sustainability and opportunity.
Why a Comprehensive Plan Matters
Cities function best when they plan with purpose. A comprehensive plan helps ensure that growth is thoughtful, resources are used wisely, and public services meet the needs of the community. It also helps attract new businesses, guide future development and protect what makes Hattiesburg special.
Why Your Voice Is Important
We can only plan for the future by listening to the people who call Hattiesburg home. Public input will directly shape the goals and priorities in this plan. Whether you attend a feedback session or take the survey online, your input will help build a future that reflects the values and vision of the community.
Join a Feedback Session
We are hosting several public feedback sessions across every ward in the city. These meetings are open to everyone and offer an opportunity to learn more, ask questions and share your ideas.
