CITY SERVICES: RECYCLING

COLLECTION DAYS

  • Ward 1 – Monday
  • Ward 2 – Tuesday
  • Ward 3 – Wednesday
  • Ward 4 – Thursday
  • Ward 5 – Friday

In Hattiesburg, recycling is a community value. It allows us to add to Hattiesburg’s story today and leave a lasting legacy for the Hattiesburg of tomorrow. Recycling at home is easy and can be accomplished by simply placing all recyclable items in the blue can instead of the green can. Hattiesburg’s recycling program is a fee-based, voluntary program. For an additional $3 a month on your water bill, you will receive a blue rolling cart and a welcome kit. If you would like to sign up today, fill out the form below.

CHRISTMAS TREE RECYCLING

Recycling your Christmas tree is a gift that keeps on giving! After all of the gifts are unwrapped and the decorations come down, make plans to recycle your tree!
Between Tuesday, Dec. 28 and Sunday, Feb. 28, all residents can drop off live, unflocked Christmas trees at the following locations:
▪️ Duncan Lake on James Street
▪️ Ben McNair Center at North 12th Ave & Conti Street
▪️ Fire Station #8 on Lamar Boulevard (near Petro Nissan)
▪️ Highland Cemetery behind the office on W 7th Street
All trees collected will be chipped into mulch and placed at Highland Cemetery for pick-up by the public. Mulch will be available at no cost to citizens of Hattiesburg, and will be available on a first come, first served basis
