SUMMARY:On Pointe: USA International Ballet Competition Showcase
DESCRIPTION:Presented in partnership with the USA International Ballet Competition\, with generous support from the Arts Institute of Mississippi \n  \nFestivalSouth and the USA International Ballet Competition join forces to bring you an evening filled with beautiful music and world-class dance. See former USA IBC medalists\, who are now principal dancers in major dance companies\, perform classical and contemporary variations. Dancers include Princess Reid (Joffrey Ballet)\, Chisako Oga (Boston Ballet)\, Derek Dunn (Boston Ballet)\, Misa Kuranaga (San Francisco Ballet)\, and Brooklyn Mack. They will be joined by a FestivalFavorite\, the Lagniappe Trio\, performing selections for a perfect pairing of music and dance. \n  \nHeld every four years\, the USA International Ballet Competition is a two-week “Olympic-style” competition for top young dancers and a major stepping-stone toward a professional career. The next USA IBC competition will be held in Jackson\, MS on June 10 – 24\, 2023. \n
