The community garage sale (Steals and Deals) begin at 8 a.m. All other activities begin at 11 a.m. \n

DESCRIPTION:The City of Hattiesburg and community partners are bringing Mississippi Musicians Day to the Hub City on Saturday\, March 7. The day-long celebration will include workshops & seminars\, children’s activities and a finale performance by Vasti Jackson\, John Wooton and more. \nHeld at the Community Arts Center (825 North Main Street – formerly the Hattiesburg American Building)\, the event will use seminars and hands-on experiences to focus on increasing awareness around Mississippi’s musical heritage and its rightful place as the birthplace of America’s music. As a cultural hub of its own\, Hattiesburg is a perfect backdrop for such a celebration. \nThe event is widely supported by a variety of community partners\, including VisitHATTIESBURG\, Historic Downtown Hattiesburg\, The Mississippi Musicians Hall of Fame\, The University of Southern Mississippi’s School of Music\, Festival South and the Arts Institute of Mississippi. \nAs a premier city in the Gulf South\, this event hopes to engage locals and visitors to take part in our local creative economy while celebrating our state’s musical heritage. \nThe schedule of events includes a 10 a.m. start\, with a ticketed finale performance featuring Vasti Jackson\, John Wooton\, the Yazoo City Blues Trio\, Charayana Johnson and the Mississippi Musicians Day House Band at 7 p.m. \n

DESCRIPTION:You are invited to join us for Spring Family Day on Saturday\, March 7! The Office of New Student and Retention Programs will host a tailgate from 12-1:30 p.m. on the Reed Green Coliseum Lawn (near the ticket booth) prior to the USM baseball and softball games. USM Softball will play a double header vs. Jacksonville State at 11 a.m. and 1:30 p.m.\, and USM Baseball will face Little Rock at 2 p.m. Reservations to the tailgate event are required. \nTailgate tickets are $15 per guest and include admission to the tailgate event\, meal and gift. Children ages 0-2 will be admitted to the tailgate and baseball/softball game for free. \nWith a valid student ID\, current Southern Miss students may attend the tailgate and baseball/softball game complimentary\, and sit in the general admission section.
