Threat of Severe Weather For Tomorrow

Threat of Severe Weather For Tomorrow

At this time, the NWS in Jackson has placed us under significant risk for hazardous weather beginning late tomorrow afternoon. Although the exact timing is unknown, we are expecting to start seeing some activity between 3 and 4 p.m. The main threats associated with this system will be heavy rain, flash flooding, lighting, and hail. Also, there is a strong possibility for some significant supercell tornadoes. This system is predicted to be a fast moving system, so it should be out of our area late tomorrow night.

In the event that we are issued a tornado watch or severe thunderstorm watch, the Forrest County Safe Room will be opened. This is located at the Forrest County 361 shelter adjacent to the Forrest County Multipurpose building.

Our landline phones are currently out at the office. If you have any questions, please be sure to contact Glen Moore at 601-606-9185 or myself at 601-520-0124.
