PARTICIPATION IN FEDERALLY FUNDED PROJECTS

The City of Hattiesburg has proposed to implement a goal of 1 % for DBE participation in projects funded through Federal Funds appropriated to the Department by the Federal Transit Administration for Fiscal Years 2016-18 in accordance with MAP-21 and 49 CFR Part 26 to bring it into alignment with Mississippi Department of Transportation (MDOT) proposed guidelines.  The methodology used to calculate the goal consist of counting the number of DBE firms contained in official, available DBE Directories and dividing this number by the total number of available firms in relevant NAICS Codes.  This resulted in a base figure of 1%.
