Hattiesburg Breaks Ground on New Public Safety Complex

Hattiesburg, Mississippi – On Tuesday, April 9, Mayor Toby Barker, the Hattiesburg Police Department and Hattiesburg City Council were joined by local officials and community members to break ground on its Public Safety Complex, which will be home to Hattiesburg Police Department and Municipal Court.

“On occasions such as this, defining moments that mark both a significant accomplishment and a step of faith toward the future, it can be challenging to capture the magnitude of what is happening,” said Barker. “Today, we are doing more than simply breaking ground on a public safety building. We are acknowledging how far we have come; but even more importantly, where we are going.”

The Public Safety Complex is a $26.5 million project.
