May 29 – Daily Update

On June 1, the Governor’s Safe Return order will begin. Here’s what that includes:

Effective June 1 – June 15
→ All vulnerable (65+/underlying health conditions) should continue to shelter at home.

GROUP GATHERINGS
→ Group gatherings & recreation if social distancing is not possible
▪️ Indoor: 20
▪️ Outdoor: 50

→ Group gatherings & recreation if social distancing is possible
▪️ Indoor: 50
▪️ Outdoor: 100

BUSINESS OPERATIONS
→ All businesses will be allowed to open to some degree, with strict guidelines.
→ Most current restrictions on restaurants and retail remain.
→ Live music can resume.

RECREATION
→ Outdoor sports complexes and multi-field complexes can open for team sports – with CDC guidelines and limitations

→ Indoor recreation and places of amusement, movie theaters, libraries and museums
▪️ 50% capacity with CDC guidelines and limitations

EVENT VENUES
→ Event spaces (reception halls and conference centers)
▪️ 25% capacity and CDC guidelines and limitations

SCHOOLS
→ School facilities can open for summer instructional learning with guidance from MDE and MSDH

MASKS
The City of Hattiesburg Executive Order 2020-9 is still in effect until June 15 and includes:
→ Masks are required for employees at all businesses.
→ Masks are required for all customers at retail stores.
