Behavioral Health Court Graduation
Hattiesburg-The City of Hattiesburg Behavioral Health Court (HBHC) will host its second graduation ceremony on Thursday, June 21 at 10:30 a.m., at the Hattiesburg Municipal Court housed within the Hattiesburg Police Department (HPD). There are eight graduates. Six others have completed six months of the year-long treatment program.
The first of its kind in Mississippi, HBHC serves individuals with mental illnesses or disorders who are charged with non-violent misdemeanor offenses and appear before Municipal Court.
Not only does the program aim to keep its participants from serving jail time, it also provides linkages to mental health treatment.
HBHC was created by the Hattiesburg Municipal Court and HPD in partnership with Pine Belt Mental Healthcare Resources. For more information, please contact 601.545.7786.
