COMMUNITY CALENDAR

There is never a shortage of things to do or see in the Hub City. If you are looking for something to do, we encourage you to sift through the many events listed here.

If you would like to add your own event, you can do that by clicking here. This form is for promoting an event via the calendar, only. It is not for reserving community centers or spaces. Please see the following guidelines for posting requirements:

  • Listed events must have a point of contact or link for more information (website, ticketing vendor or Facebook event).
  • All events will be submitted for review before being published, with approval in 24-48 hours. If an event is not approved, the point of contact listed on the event will be contacted.
  • A photo for uploading is helpful, but not required.
  • All events should take place in the City of Hattiesburg.
  • The City of Hattiesburg reserves the right to approve or deny any event listing and to edit the content submitted for final publication.
  • The posting of an event does not provide for the event being  endorsed through the status of being “city-sanctioned” (approval needed by the City Council) or “city-sponsored.” However, both city-sanction and city-sponsored events will also be listed here.

NOTE: Submitting an event for publication on the calendar is not the same as filing for a permit to host an event that requires the use of city property, streets or needs traffic support. For permits, you’ll need to submit a permit application to the Hattiesburg Police Department. The application can be downloaded here: Event & Parade Permits.

The Southern Miss baseball team will hold its eighth annual Pack The Pete in Pink Weekend, in conjunction with the Pink Ribbon Fund of the Pine Belt, when the Golden Eagles open its home series against Charlotte 49ers beginning Thursday night at Pete Taylor Park/Hill Denson Field.

Game times for the weekend against the 49ers are 6 p.m., Thursday, April 18th; 4 p.m., Friday, April 19th and 10 a.m., Saturday, April 20th.

During the weekend, raffle tickets and Pack the Pete in Pink t-shirts will be on sale at The Pete for $15 each. A portion of all sales will go directly to The Pink Ribbon Fund. In addition, breast cancer survivor Julie Towe will be throwing out the first pitch on Thursday night to begin the series.

Members of the Pink Ribbon Fund will be on hand all weekend long with information about their organization and to help raise awareness about breast cancer and the effect that it has on everyone.

The Pink Ribbon Fund was founded in 2003 by two Hattiesburg women, with its purpose to compassionately assist Pine Belt breast cancer patients with financial support for their diagnosis and treatment, as well as the quality of life issues resulting from their illness. To date, The Pink Ribbon Fund has given away over $1 million in grants in the 17-county area. For more information on The Pink Ribbon Fund, go to ThePinkRibbonFund.com.
