Nature of Work: This is semi-skilled maintenance and repair work. Will be responsible for the maintenance and upkeep of City properties. Work may at times include painting, cement, electrical or landscape duties. Work will consist of new construction and repair/maintenance of existing structures. Work is supervised and reviewed by the maintenance supervisor for quality and actual work performed.
Examples of Work: Replaces broken windows. Repairs doors, floors, roofs, ceilings, locks, counters, windows, etc. Installs doors and hardware for door cabinets, etc. Paints walls, trim, cabinets, etc. Performs carpentry work. Performs other duties as assigned.
Desirable Qualifications: High School diploma or G.E.D. equivalent. Ability to use hand tools, knowledge of work hazards and safety precautions. Requires good communication skills, ability to follow instructions, and knowledge of carpentry procedures. Must have a valid Mississippi Drivers License.
