National Crime Victims' Rights Week 2011

Every April, since 1981, law enforcement agencies, along with organizations and communities join together to observe National Crime Victims’ Rights Week (NCVRW). This week is set aside to promote victims’ rights and honor crime victims and the individuals who spend countless hours advocating on their behalf.

Locally, this year, NCVRW will be observed April 10-16 with the theme: "Reshaping the Future, Honoring the Past." and colors: teal, yellow, and black. The Victims’ Services and Domestic Violence Unit of the Hattiesburg Police Department, along with Camp Shelby, the Saffer Center and the United Way held their yearly proclamation signing by Hattiesburg Mayor Johnny DuPree, Ph. D. on Thursday, March 31, 2011 at City Hall. All festivities for this year will take place in Laurel.
