Hattiesburg Woman Leaves Baby In Car, Charged With Felony

Hattiesburg, MS ∙April 3, 2011
A local mother is behind bars in Lamar County today facing one count of felony child neglect after she left her baby unattended in a locked, closed-windows car as she visited a shopping facility.
On Saturday, April 2, 2011, officers with the Hattiesburg Police Department were called to Turtle Creek Mall after several citizens complained of a baby being left unattended in a vehicle located in the mall’s parking lot. Approximately 40 minutes after the officers’ arrival, the child’s mother, 20-year-old Hattiesburg native Morgan Green, was located and arrested.
The Hattiesburg Fire Department also assisted in this incident.
The child was released to a relative.
