Under the direction of Captain Tim Jackson, the Maintenance Division of the Hattiesburg Police Department is divided into two operational sections, Fleet Maintenance and Facility Maintenance.
The Fleet section, managed by Mr. Darryl Ford, is responsible for the daily maintenance of all vehicles maintained by the Hattiesburg Police Department. These vehicles include marked police cars, motorcycles, the HPD Mobile Command Post, and an assortment of unmarked vehicles used by department employees. Most maintenance is performed at the newly operational Fleet Maintenance Facility which was constructed to reduce repair costs, expedite repairs and minimize “down time” of emergency vehicles.
Mr. James George manages the department’s facility operations. He is assisted by Mr. Dondrae Hinton, Miss Patricia Hinton and Mr. Courtney Smith and they are tasked with the upkeep and repair of the Hattiesburg Police Department. These responsibilities include the main structure of the police department, as well as several outlying buildings such as the Hattiesburg Police and Fire Training Academy, Hattiesburg Police Firing Range and several HPD Substations located throughout the city. Additionally, maintenance includes the daily cleaning of all buildings and repairs of plumbing, electrical and structural systems that keep the police department operational for the citizens of Hattiesburg.
