Municipal Court

 

Municipal Court is supervised by Ms. I'Nes Hicks and this division is responsible for processing and adjudicating all misdemeanor arrests within the city.  Records regarding these cases are housed to handle concerns from the public and a public computer is available to view misdemeanor convictions.

 

Additionally, the Court Division consists of one judge, one prosecutor and one public defender who are all appointed by the Mayor.  The types of cases heard in this court include: police-initiated arrests, personal affidavits and traffic citations.  Also, they handle first appearance and preliminary hearings for felony defendants.

 

For your convenience, a deputy court clerk is stationed at the front desk twenty-four hours a day, even on the holidays.  Should there be any questions concerning a court case or traffic citation, please call 601-545-4933.

TELESERVICE

Deputy court clerks are available for walk-in services such as filing reports of incidents, filing affidavits, and request for security (light) checks at residences or businesses.

Teleservice is opened from 8:00 AM through 6:00 PM,. Monday thru Friday.  If you have any questions please call 601-545-7900.

SUBSTATION 

The substation is located at 104 Lamar Boulevard and is opened from 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM, Monday thru Friday, and is closed on observed holidays.  Services available at the substation are filing affidavits and picking up incident and accident reports.
