HFD to Hold Promotional Ceremony
Hattiesburg-Eight City of Hattiesburg Firefighters have proved that hard work really does pay off as each will be promoted on Wednesday, July 18. The public is invited to attend the event which will be held at the Jackie Dole Sherrill Community Center at 5 p.m.
The Hattiesburg Fire Department (HFD) will honor Brady D. Ingram who will become a Battalion Chief, and Derrick Shaw who will advance to Captain.
"It is a very tough process to complete due to the many aspects of the testing," said Ingram. "It covers many areas and topics as outlined in the job of Battalion Chief. It is a great honor to be able to help transfer the HFD into the new age of firefighting tactics and still maintain tradition," he said.
Lieutenant promotions include Jeff Morgan and Marcus Smith. The City’s new Engineers are John Caffey, Robert Dillard, William Lewis and Anthony “Brian” Sheffield.
